I am very impressed by the service and treatment I received throughout my pregnancy, from the ante-natal appointments right through to the birth of my beautiful daughter. I found all the staff especially the midwives to be very caring, respectful of any decisions made by me and very competent at their jobs. I felt that I was in safe hands. The midwife who was dedicated to me during labour was excellent, i can't name her here but she was everything you want a midwife to be during labour. I know everyone has their own individual experiences, but I can't help feeling sad that this hospital gets a bad press. I feel strongly that the maternity staff should get this positive feedback as they are all doing a great job. My only suggestion for improvement would be that if the post-natal ward could act as a triage for newborns, rather than taking the newborn baby to A&E that would be more sensible. They were available over the phone for advice but as it was a skin rash they sent us to A&E as they couldn't see it. It would make more sense if we could bring the baby to the midwife on the post natal ward as they would have probably have taken 2 mins to tell us it was harmless. Instead we were in A&E for 4 hours with all the germs. Overall, thank you to all the staff. I hope this feedback reaches you all.
"Lovely experience giving birth"
