"The way they made me feel"

About: James Paget University Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I felt intimidated and looked down upon by a midwife. I lost my boy last year so I’m consultant led and should of been looked after professionally, but instead was treated and spoke to like a piece of garbage. I told them my reasons for being in and my concerns - they then said rudely "What you want me to do about it your plan won’t change because if it would you would be on delivery not here!" Even though I was sent from delivery to there.

They made me look like a liar when I said I was losing some of my waters which was confirmed in scan. Just feel disgusted by the lack of care and the way they spoke to me. Did make a complaint to the staff on reception but not sure it was dealt with - wouldn’t want anyone else to be made to feel the way they made me feel.

Dear TJ4

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback which I have shared with the maternity team.

I am sorry to hear that your experiences were not positive, in what must have been a worrying time for you. I would like to offer you the opportunity to discuss this in more detail so that the issues you have raised can be further explored.

If you would like to speak to someone, please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01493 453240, who will be able to liaise with the relevant staff, in discussion with you.

Kind Regards
