"Paramedics"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a service user),

My husband has pneumonia,  I called the paramedics on Monday. Sasha and Nick from Gloucester attended and were amazing from the time they entered my home to the time that they saw us again in Cheltenham A&E several hours later. Sasha and Nick were courteous, polite, chatty and most of all so very caring. They attended to my husbands every need, told me exactly what was going on with the obs, and what they were going to do next.

Gloucester Royal was not accepting any admissions although Sasha tried twice to convince them that this would be best for my husband we were sent to Cheltenham, because of the frailty of my hubby Sasha told Nick to put on Blues and twos, half way there my hubby lost consciousness, and then felt very sick, Nick slowed right down made sure all was ok then continued the journey with care.

When we go to Cheltenham A&E both Sasha and Nick stayed with us until we were booked in. Then a few hours later I saw them with another patient in A&E and after they had finished with that patient they came and found us and asked how we were doing. I would really like to thank them for all the care and support they gave us, they really were wonderful caring people and a total credit to the NHS. So if you get to read this Sasha and Nick He is still poorly but a lot more comfortable so a huge big Thank you

Dear Zafria,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story and I hope your husband recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are delivering care and support to patients and those around them when they need it most.

We would be happy to share your story with the ambulance staff involved in this instance, however, to do so we will need some specific information. If you would like us to do this, please may I ask you to contact us on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 261 534 and a member of the Patient Engagement Team will be happy to help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Kind regards,

Sharifa
