What I liked
I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, seen and reviewed by some lovely nurses prior to my op, helpful and friendly. Anaesthetist excellent! Had little pain or nausea. The consultant was very nice thankyou, and has done a nice job as far as I can see, theatre staff and recovery staff all great, thankyou!
Ward nurses on 20 pleasant and helpful
What could be improved
My discharge next day felt very rushed, post op bloods and drugs cancelled I feel in favour of a speady discharge, if my consultant or anaesthetist felt I would need repeat bloods the next day, and something to thin my blood, they should have been done, I don't know the name of the guy who examined me the next day and discharged me, no introduction, couldn't see his name badge.
I have had bladder problems since the op, this wasn't addressed, don't get me wrong I was keen to go and I understand the need for beds, my nurse was lovely, said I would get my bloods done, she would take my dressings down and check on my bladder issue,s next thing, after I'd done my satisfaction form! The sister gave me my post op advice, told me to get some over the counter pain relief and had me walked to the day room.
Anything else?
Patients should be told to get some pain relief in before the day of the op
"Excellent care spoilt by a rushed discharge"
