I recommended the maternity unit, unfortunately the level of care and consideration towards my daughter in law, was very poor. The midwifes did not offer the support that should have been given during and after delivery.

My daughter in law was bitterly distressed from a very traumatic labour. The difficulty also left the baby very subdued, and unable to feed correctly. The staff failed to offer the support needed to this young mum, in terms of breast feeding.

At what should have been a lovely time for you all seems to have been clouded by your negative experience for which I am sincerely sorry.

It is important that we learn from our patient's experiences and therefore, I wondered if your daughter-in-law would be happy to contact our PALS team so that they can look into what has happened on the unit to give your daughter-in-law such a poor experience.
