After waiting 2 weeks for an initial appointment, I visited the clinic. I was scared and anxious but the nurse who takes your height/weight etc was lovely and made me feel very comfortable. The doctor who then does the screen test was also lovely and very helpful as to what my options are. When it came to see the next nurse to discuss the options (surgical or medical), she told me I only had 1 option, which was a lie but she didn’t explain any of the other possible routes I could take. As well as misinforming me and providing unhelpful information, she was also so insensitive and outright rude, was continuously talking down to me. When she said I had to wait another month for the actual abortion I burst into tears because I had been assured it would be a 2 week wait. When I said “what the **** that’s so long” her only response was “um- do not swear” then lapsed back into silence. Honestly an awful experience, the most unhelpful medical professional I have ever seen, and I walked out. Pregnancy can be a scary and frightening, especially when you’re young, and the complete insesnitivity of that by this nurse was awful. I would not recommend using this service if this is your first abortion and you don’t completely know what your options are, because from my experience you may be lied to / not have your options explained to you / receive no explanations / be treated by a rude, ill-informed and insolent nurse.
