Visited A&E following the advice of NHS 24. During one of my shifts I was clearing out a drawer where I fell upon some needles that appeared to have been used. As soon as I realised they where there I walked away from the drawer.
Due to previous work I have no feeling in my fingers therefore I became worried after noticing a scratch on finger. Later that night I became very breathless and my throat developed a cough. That's when I contacted NHS 24 whom where very helpful and arranged a dr to call me back to discuss a plan.
The staff at A&E basically laughed in my face and said that all they would do was take bloods. This meant I would have to sit and wait 6 hours for the doctor to come and take the bloods. The staff didn't show kindness or empathy at all during my visit. I was shocked at the humour my worry seemed to bring the nurses.
