"My Mum's care"

About: Kilbryde Hospice

(as a relative),

My mum entered Kilbryde Hospice in February   She had been a day patient for a number of months and her wishes was to return to the hospice to for her final moment...

My sister and I were made to feel part of the Kilbryde family... my mum smiled and laughed with everyone that entered her room( which was lovely)  and it gave us all great comfort that she was being cared for by people who took pride in the work that they do...

Sally was there for 4 wks right up to her final breath the staff were tentative and comforting to my mum telling her that it was ok and not to worry...

We miss her everyday but grateful that Kilbryde hospice exists

Dear Blinde,

Many thanks for taking the time to provide this very positive feedback regarding your Mum's care during the time she spent here at Kilbryde Hospice.

It is wonderful to hear of the care and support which she received from Day Services and also the continuum of that care within the In Patient Unit. As part of the Clinical Lead team it is tremendous to hear this wonderful feedback. In particular the words you express regarding your mum laughing, happy, smiling, comfortable and indeed that you were all made to feel part of the Kilbryde family.

We understand this has been a very difficult time for you all and therefore we are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to provide this information. We will be delighted to provide this feedback to all staff within Kibryde Hospice Day Services and also to the staff in our In Patient Unit.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require any ongoing support or advice.

Kind Regards,

Ann Majella McFadden
