"Prescription Disappointment ??"

Excellent Consultatant with the nurse, very informative.

Informed Prescription will be sent to local pharmacy, upon attempting to collect later that day advised not yet received.

Returned to the pharmacy after lunch the following day, prescription still not arrived at pharmacy.

Called Surgery to discuss with receptionist, informed prescription with Dc awaiting signing, requested to come in to surgery to collect prescription later that day, advised they couldn't reverse process, we would need to wait for it to arrive at pharmacy ! Following further discussion (rational for medication) they agreed that the prescription could be collected.

No apology offered for the inconvenience of visiting the pharmacy twice!

Attended surgery to collect, nurse enquired why we were back? explained situation, she stated she would sort this out and offered an apology.

Receptionist had prescription ready to hand over, when nurse asked receptionist what had happened receptionist simply stated "sometimes they get sent, sometimes they don't!" On handing over prescription again no apology was offered by reception.

I asked how a complaint could be made I was told in writing to the practice manager, no email address offered.

I felt the reception staff were not helpful and offered no compassion/in-site in to the situation, for front of house staff receiving the general public on a daily basis they were lacking in basic customer service skills.

I appreciate they have a difficult job however compassion and kindness goes a long way.
