In mid-May, I felt there was something wrong during my pregnancy.
I came up to the maternity unit at 9.30pm at night suspecting i was leaking waters.
At 11.30pm, my waters broke at 33 weeks and 4 days. Staff were prompt and gave me a steroid injection.
I was taken straight along to ward 17 at BGH and I was very settled there. 2 and a half hours later I was contracting every 2-3 minutes and I was 5 cm dilated. They quickly took me to the labour ward where I was given gas and air.
Midwifes were so lovely and tried there best to get anti biotics into me through a drip and it just did not work. They were so nice to me and couldnt have done an any better job.
About an hour later 5am. I was ready to have my little girl and in 26 minutes she was here.
SBCU were there and I had skin to skin with my daughter, they explained everything then took my daughter to high dependecy to be monitored for 4 hours and they she was put onto the nursery ward doing so well.
They have worked along with me and been so positive about everything. My daughter is currently doing well and i could not ask for any better support. There students were just amazing to.
