After an MRI for a long standing back injury, things moved very quickly for me. I had a fantastic surgeon explain everything to me, and put me at ease with all of my options. Within two weeks I had had an L4/L5 micro-discectomy, and immediately upon waking from surgery, I was pain free for the first time in 8 months. I was as impressed with the anesthesiologists as I was with the orthopedic department, who, like my surgeons, made me feel at ease with their prior thoroughness and then reassurance, just as I went 'under'. All the hospital staff who dealt with me during my recovery were unbelievably kind. I was inspired by everyone. There was no-one I saw that treated their position as just a job. Truly above and beyond what should realistically be expected of an 'employee'. Every patient i saw in my ward was consistently treated with genuine compassion; from the nurses to the physios, a patience I was barely able to muster for the duration of my stay in hospital, certainly not day after day working long hours, dealing with people like us. The treatment I have received has changed my life. And not just in a physical way. I try every day to show the same professional fortitude and kindness to the people around me, as I was shown by everyone at Frimley. A very big thank-you to everyone. Jason
