"Not recommended"

Unfortunately I would not recommend this surgery. I had one great experience from a locum here but it has been appalling since.When I moved to the area my GP surgery in Brighton Hill took me off their list as I lived out of boundaries so I registered here as the closest. I regret not doing more research! In the time I have been with Rooksdown I have had blood tests lost and been told over the phone I had illnesses that I did not have. What is worse is I suffer from several chronic illnesses and it is impossible to get a doctors appointment for intermittent treatment or advice: you have to phone on the day in the hope that there is an appointment. In my profession it is simply not possible to take a day off from work simply for the chance that I might be seen or called because it is never an “emergency “.

I have been offered telephone calls and called at times I was unable to answer the phone when I made it explicitly clear I couldn’t. All of this sounds like a fuss but when you are chronically ill and suffering constant low level pain, depression creeps up... I would (un) happily pay a small fee just to secure an advance, evening appointment.
