My partner and I had to pay a visit to A&E with our daughter who was 5 weeks old at the time back in November 2018. We got seen quickly at reception where they booked my daughter in, then we went through to the waiting area where it was very busy! We thought we was going to be in for a long wait, but we got called within 15 mins which was great with such a young baby.
Then within an hour our daughter had blood tests, her weight measured, a cannula put in, fluids and other tests done. She was then put on a course of antibiotics. We went through a very worrying time as first time parents, but the staff reassured us at all times and we always knew what was going on. Each nurse and doctor that had seen to our daughter was exceptional, she was treated with the up most care! We were then waiting for a bed down on the children's ward.
