Well, firstly I have to say that I wanted to use the services for anxiety, negative thoughts and low mood a long time ago but I decided to somehow try to manage my problems alone. I was wrong, so last year around September I decided to try it as my anxiety was bad. I went to my GP and was referred, firstly I attended the group sessions for anxiety of 9 to 12 people maximum.
The group sessions had different techniques for coping with anxiety and they were helpful a lot. It was nice knowing that you are not the only person who experiences mental health problems. After the group sessions ended I felt I needed more help with some of my negative thoughts especially the intrusive thoughts. It was amazing to see the progress throughout the sessions and being able to finally at least do some of the stuff I wanted but had anxiety for.
Rashmi was my therapist throughout the individual one to one sessions and i am forever thankful for her. She helped me understand a lot about emotions and particular beliefs. I really recommend the services they offer as many of our mental health problems such as anxiety can be in some cases to some extent due to not knowing the correct information. The sessions are really helpful as for example they offer guidance on how to manage your anxiety and beliefs. One of the main things I loved is that for example Rashmi and i am sure the other therapists as well have so much patience and understanding towards us the patients, they make you feel that anxiety is just anxiety, it does not differ you from other people.
Some of the sessions can be intense because you have to be willing to follow the guidance of the therapist but afterwards the outcomes are so much beneficial for you. So yeah, I want to say to who ever is reading this if you are experiencing any mental problem just go for it, no matter how bad it is. Overall i have to say that the sessions are also helpful for understanding and managing your anxiety or any other issues. If I have any further future issues I would definitely go back. Rashmi i am thankful for your support and advice.
