"Not good"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

What I liked

The doctor who saw me was nice and made me laugh and cheered me up.

What could be improved

Confidentiality.

Anything else?

I went into A&E after a self inflicted wound and I felt that the nurse who was patching it up was very rood and did not treat me with respect at all! She told me to stop laughing, I was only laughing because I was nervous and didn't want to cry. She also them went back to the doctor and told him that I sprayed something in my cut but I don't think she has ever herd of patient confidentiality as I think the hole rest the a&e department herd her, she was talking so loud about me and if anything she made me worse, as I just went home and did it again, I think some of the staff in the A&E department need to be more aware about self-harm as they seemed to just turn there nose up at me.

I'm very sorry to hear of this. Patients should be treated with respect and confidentially regardless of their condition or injury and I will remind the staff of this. Sue Franklin, Manager, Department of Emergency Medicine.
