"My Mothers terrible experience with UCLH "

My mother was admitted to Barnet Hospital at 6.00am in the morning. What preceeded her admission was in my opinion an absolute disgrace.

At approx 11.30pm on the evening of the night before her admission, I received a telephone call from the emergency help line that my mother has in her home, that she had fallen over, I went to the house within minutes and found her laying on the floor, she was in terrible pain, so I called an ambulance which arrived very quickly.

My mother who is 82 years old, didnt have her teeth in at the time and the ambulance staff thought she might have had a stroke, but after she had put her dentures in, her face and speech returned to normal, I was told she was being taken to Barnet Hospital, I told my mother I would be at the hospital as quickly as I could.

The time is now around 12.45am, I was ready to leave at about 1.15am when I received a phone call on my mobile phone, with the number withheld, It was UCLH A&E telling me my mother had been admitted to hospital and that she was being X-rayed, and before I could ask any questions the phone went down.

At 3.30am I received another phone call from UCLH A&E telling me my mother had been X-rayed and she has a Broken Shoulder, and that she has been put in a mini cab and was being sent home.

I was flabbergasted that the hospital had put my mother, an 82 year old woman, who was still in her nightdress and dressing gown, and still in terrible pain, into a mini cab at this time of the morning.
