"A very good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to..."

About: St Michael's Hospital (Hayle)

What I liked

The atmosphere is very warm and caring while at the same time very professional.

In spite of rapid turn over of patients, day cases for surgery and transfers from other wards and hospitals there was always a feeling of calm efficiency.

All the staff at every level, whether doctor, nurse, HCAs, physios or cleaner seemed to work very well together.

I had complications post operatively, a DVT and problems with re mobilizing. I felt that my treatment was excellent and I was very reassured by the competence of the staff.

The level of cleanliness never wavered in the two and a half weeks I was there. There were obviously protocols in place which were being followed.

What could be improved

The food ! Not great, often over cooked

Anything else?

This was my second knee operation in St Michael's. My first was three years ago. I would say the high standard I saw then has been maintained, with the possible exception of the food!
