"Tonsillectomy"

My daughter had a tonsillectomy yesterday at Warwick day surgery centre. We arrived at 7.30 and the doors were opened promptly we were checked in efficiently and in a friendly manner.

We did not wait long to be called through to meet the anaesthetist,surgeon and nurses. They were all efficient, calm and reassuring - my daughter has never had any kind of procedure at hospital before and was nervous.

I asked if I could accompany her to the theatre, the nurse checked and I was given permission. Everyone I encountered gave their name and explained everything clearly and then checked understanding - which is important. They were also very kind and their care and attention was outstanding. When she came to recovery she was checked at regular intervals to make sure her pain relief was sufficient.

We were discharged with all the information and medication again checking of understanding and the nurse made sure we got to the car safely. The whole department were sensible, efficient and caring. I can't thank them enough as she was so nervous and anxious they completely gave peace of mind which is so important for recovering as quickly as possible.

Everyone that we met were fabulous but the staff that I would particularly like to thank four ladies in particular - thank you so much.
