"Colonoscopy as an out-patient"

I had one of these today and had been worrying about it as the time approached, as I think anyone would. But I really needn't have. The procedure is nothing like as bad as it might sound, although the preparation (which you carry out at home) is actually the least pleasant part. The whole appointment went well and efficiently but the truly amazing part is all the staff involved. Everyone form the receptionist you first see right through to the consultant and the recovery staff is friendly, kind and understanding. I really cannot speak highly enough of all of them. Being frightened a bit is only natural but they do their very best to make it as good an experience as it can be and they do succeed!
