I had use of Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy, in the Medical High Dependency Unit.
My husband is really fit generally, so this was completely unexpected. He has been kept in hospital since Monday when they found multiple blood clots on both lungs, really serious stuff, unexpected as he is normally so healthy.
The care in the hospital has been really good, they have been checking really thoroughly that there is nothing underlying that could be sinister, and just doing anything they can to make my husbands stay better. Just the general care from the Drs, nursing staff and everyone has been doing everything to be really caring and kind and compassionate. And we have been there to support him too, which we have been able to do as you can stay there for as long as you need on the high dependency unit, we really appreciate that. They are all doing such a brilliant job, I wanted them to know that, and I definitely want to name some names: Carol, Eileen, Katrina and Morag, those were the main 4 people that have been looking after him but the doctors have been fab, I just don't remember their names, and not one of the staff members we have met have not been amazing, all the time.We are in our 50s, and have not had to use emergency services before, thank god, so it was a new experience for us . We don't want to have to experience it again. The NHS do get bad press sometime but they really have demonstrated amazing work to us.
