"Put me at ease"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Mary Rose Maternity Centre

(as a service user),

On two occasions I had reason to phone the maternity bleep and ask for assistance. One time I had fallen and one time I had no fetal movements for 24 hours. On both occasions the bleep holder put me at ease and kindly invited me in to be checked over.

I arrived and was greeted by lots of friendly members of staff and shown to a room to see a midwife. The first time I saw and lady called Emma who asked me about my fall and felt my tummy and listened to the heartbeat, all was fine with baby and she was so kind and told me to contact them again if I had any problems. The second time I was seen by a lady called Lisa who again put me at ease asked me about my normal movement patterns and again felt my tummy and listened to the heartbeat. Lisa was so friendly and empathetic, she assured me that no midwife would question any pregnant lady worrying about lack of movements and assured me to always phone if I was worried.
