"Asthma GP appointment and review"

I’m delighted with my recent experience of care at The Hawthorn Surgery. After an initial phone call I was seen the same day by a doctor whom I hadn’t seen before. He showed empathy and understanding of my symptoms of a chest infection and how I was struggling to cope with my asthma. He said I had a high temperature and crackling in my chest and that I had done the right thing in going to the surgery and insisting on an appointment. He then reassured me by saying I should have a ‘rescue pack’ at home for when I feel unwell on holiday etc. His advice was much appreciated. After my course of antibiotics had finished, on his advice, I returned to the surgery for an asthma review with the nurse. This went well and I now feel that I have a better understanding of my asthma and how to manage it on a daily basis.
