"Trouble getting an appointment at Glasgow Dental"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School / Oral Surgery & Medicine

(as the patient),

hello,

I have been referred to the hospital since my dentist could not carry out a root treatment, she couldn’t get the silver points out so needs specialist equipment.

So I am waiting for an appointment.

Problem-I have heard nothing from the hospital concerning a possible date.

I’ve heard there’s a long waiting time to get treatment, but I didn’t expect or can’t understand why the wait is so long. The hospital doesn’t even acknowledge that they have received my referral and won’t give me an appointment for a date in the future.

I find this very disrespectful.

I've tried phoning, but never get an answer, now there’s even an answer machine that replies-mail box full.

I went personally to the hospital, but the enquiries office where unhelpful, telling me they could not even tell me if they have received my referral and should go back to my dentist.

So my conclusion is that the hospital are saying -go away, without actually saying it.

I don’t see why I can’t expect a response in some way from the hospital; it’s far from the expectations of how a professional institution should work.

I might finally get the tooth extracted just to solve the problem, but know it’s not the right decision for the long term.

I don’t like complaint letters, since I feel they end up in the bin, but I’ve been listening to a discussion on democracy. Democracy is not about voting, it’s about speaking out, so throw this in the bin if you want. But I would like help.
