"Birth of my grandson"

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff involved in the care of my daughter who gave birth to my grandson this April. She was under the care of the best start team who were wonderful.

Her midwife Elaine came out to the house at 10p. m to examine her prior to her going to Wishaw maternity unit. Elaine met us there and looked after Kirsty until her colleague Carol took over at 8 a. m. The doctors had some mild concerns for Charlie at one point and carried out some blood tests to ensure he wasn't distressed. All the time the doctors and midwives were explaining why and what they were doing. I was very impressed by the checks and peer review carried out throughout the day/night by other members of the midwifery team. They were all very professional, reassuring and friendly. As a nurse myself I feel it is important to give positive feedback and I can't thank every member of staff enough who was involved in Kirsty and Charlie's care. It was a pleasure to witness such professionalism and dedication.
