My mum is currently in her third week on B4. She has fibrositis and had a chest infection. Since being admitted she has been on oxygen she is stuck in bed because she can't carry a cylinder herself. She has no bed control so she has to ask to be moved. She has to ask to go to the toilet. The ward is hot and stuffy, my mum has had a water infection, she isn't drinking because nobody told her she could have a hot drink whenever she wanted. She developed thrush in her mouth and now cant eat, nobody told her they would help her with her false teeth until I took in steradent. She has become very weak, and is struggling to walk unaided, she was mobile previously. She has now got the squits and is needing incontinence pads. Nursing and care staff act as if they are doing patients a huge favour, they use their personal mobiles, their work station is a mess. They told her she can go home. they need the bed. I think she needs to be in a cleaner ward, and be looked after properly. Oh and did I mention she now has a bedsore? ? ? ?
