"Excellent care for Robotic Radical Prostatectomy"

About: Chase Farm Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I had my prostate removed by Tim Briggs, Senior Urology Consultant, at Chase Farm Hospital in April 2012.

I was admitted the night before the operation to the Wellington Ward and from that moment I was aware of the quality of care, sympathy and sensitivity demonstrated by everyone from the ward manager to the cleaners.

I was in a bay of 6 beds (males) and after 4 days I realised that we, as patients, took for granted the high level of nursing care we received. I had began to wonder what made these people choose nursing as a career - it certainly wasn't for the financial rewards. They are a breed apart, dedicated to caring for fellow beings who are sick and ill and who seem to deflect unreasonable demands made by patients. I applaud them all.

If the Wellington Ward is typical of the level of care and dedication patients experience then the NHS is in good hands. It was way beyond my expectations the level of care and attention I received.
