"Injury should have been treated as urgent when being given an appointment by Sentinel"

About: Sentinel Healthcare Southwest Community Interest Company / Shoulders, Knees & Feet (muscles & bones)

(as the patient),

When you know you have a serious injury, you are in pain; then you have this confirmed by clinician as serious and think that you are being referred as urgent; why is it that when contacted by Sentinel it is not flagged up as such?

If I had not pushed for 1st avialable appointment I would have been still waiting. Happy with treatment at Mount Gould, but again through I was being referred urgently to orthopaedic consultant to be told initially 4-6 weeks. Was told by Sentinel they did not have to see me until June. Had to ring PALS and orthopaedics manager Derriford to get anywhere. When seen by consultant was advised that it should be known that my injury type should have gone through immediately.

Unfortunately we are unable to answer this question for you Sentinel acts on instructions from the GP and would suggest that this issue is perhaps discussed during your next appointment with them. We can appreciate how upsetting this has been for you but hope the matter will be resolved as quickly as possible for you.

Please do let us know if we can be of any further assistance,

Wishing you all the best for the future,

The Sentinel Team.
