"Not getting any service"

About: Buckland Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Called 111 at 8. 30am during the Easter holiday got a call back at 9. 00 am, explained my problem which I have had lots of times over the last 25+years. Could have given me antibiotics which would have been easier for them as they were busy, but after saying they could send a prescription to a pharmacist they decided they would need to see me. So was told they would call back with a time.

Waited till 12ish I called back, said they would call me back within the 4hr slot. Called again at 3. 25 PM was told again that someone would call back. Called again at 8. 30 PM to be told Buckland hospital was now closed and my details had been sent to Canterbury hospital were I could not go to as had already explained I had no transport. Received a call back at 10. 50 PM offering me an appointment at 1am in Canterbury the next morning but as I explained I could not get there as had no transport, told the person on the phone what had happened and that I felt very let down they was very apologetic, this was not their fault as I told them Dover hospital should have dealt with it better.

We are very sorry to read of your experience with the 111 service in getting some assistance.

You would need to contact SECAMB (South East Coast Ambulance Trust) who are responsible for that service if you wished to raise concerns with them.

Their email address is pet.secamb@nhs.net .
