"Potential broken fingers"

About: Southampton General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I visited the a&e department on advice from two nurse friends of mine after my hand was crushed due to they’re concern that my fingers were broken, the receptionist and Triage nurse were very helpful and said I needed an x ray which I was sent for straight away. I then waited three hours for the results, I understand as I know they are busy and have higher priorities, but I was then called through by a very attidudie nurse who left me in a cubical after a few questions and stormed off, I then was met by another nurse who ran through a few routine questions before pretty much giving me a rollicking and telling me I should of left it some more days instead of bothering them on a bank holiday and I should use elsewhere in future. This could of been pointed out at the start and I would of happily gone elsewhere.I assumed that my results were nothing by this attitude but then to my amazement the nurse then said she d send me for an X-ray to which I stated I’d had one 3 hours previous. I have upmost respect for national health and all nurses and Doctors in general, which is why I tried not to bother them until advised to go, so to be on the receiving end of this attitude was a shock.
