"My Dad"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency Medway Maritime Hospital / Older people's healthcare South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

Dad was taken by ambulance to The medway maritime hospital last Thursday. He spent a while on A/E until a bed on a ward could be found for him. Clearly A/E were massively understaffed but this made no difference to their treatment of him. They were kind and caring and however busy they were nothing was too much trouble.   Dad was then taken onto Milton Ward and is currently still there. I cannot fault the staff who are mostly rushed off their feet. The kindness,   care, consideration and respect they have shown my Dad is boundless and I have gone from being frightened for him to being able to go home and sleep because I trust these lovely people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone including the ambulance guys who were lovely to A/E and the ward staff. X

What has been lovely to see is no matter how busy the staff are they always make time to speak to a patient even if only in passing. No one gets ignored.

Thank you very much for your kind comments about the ambulance crew who attended your Dad. I know that they would be very pleased to hear what you have said about them and it would be great if you could let us know the address to which the ambulance was called so that we can identify who they are.

Our email address is pet@secamb.nhs.uk and our telephone number is 0300 123 9242

I hope that your Dad is now making good progress.
