About: Redbourn HC Medical Practice

My dear dr is away, I am told ‘indefinately’ So I recently had to see another doctor. I have been ill with, I suspect, bronchitis, and was completely bedridden. I could hardly get to my own bathroom. I asked for a dr to call me. She discussed my symptoms and said I should go into the surgery. I explained that I can’t get out of bed. She then asked if I had someone who could bring me to the surgery. I again said that, yes my husband could drive me but I can’t get down to the car...I feel too ill to walk about. She then said, in a definitely ‘annoyed’ tone of voice, “well, I suppose I had better come and see you then,” she made it sound like a huge and unwarranted favour! She came, examined me rather briefly, said my temperature was ‘fine’,prescribed antibiotics and swept off in a gale of perfume and irritation. I took my own temperature after she left, it was 39.6. Her manner was cold, unsympathetic and left me feeling tearful and upset.i hope not to see her again. My husband asked for An an appointment today and was given one for May 23rd..that’s 6 weeks. Let’s hope his stomach pains are not serious!

Thank you for adding a comment onto this website, unfortunately, I cannot look into these as I do not have enough information nor know who you are.

We do appreciate that our patients may wish to give us feedback on the service that we provide but this is more helpful when we can look at the specifics.

If you do have issues in the future, perhaps you could mention this to our receptionists who will be able to take the details from you.

with kind regards
