(as a service user),

For over two years my wife had treatment for bowel cancer but sadly passed away in December 2018. I have just completed a course of bereavement counselling with Susie, with additional support from Willie in the Chaplaincy' at Kilbryde Hospice. Their professionalism and sensitivity have helped me greatly. Careful listening to my concerns and gentle suggestions. They can't take away the sadness and they can't give you all the answers but they were a great help in exploring the many questions I had at this very difficult time.

Dear Jacque

Thank you for taking the time to post a story on Care Opinion. As Clinical Services Manager at Kilbryde Hospice to know that you have been supported professionally and sensitively by both our Spiritual Care team and our Counselling team following the death of your wife is very reassuring. As you say, their care cannot take away the sadness nor answer many of your questions however they were present and you felt supported at this difficult time.

I will forward this positive feedback to Suzi our Counsellor and Willie in our Spiritual Care Team as this will encourage them in the care they will deliver in the future.
