What I liked
the seats were comfortable but not enough for all patients to sit down
the loos are signed disable and male. no female loos were seen.
What could be improved
a senior nurse came up to a patient who was bleeding though his dressing, he pick off the dressing put it down on a work top. collected another dressing then put it on. he then pick up the soiled dressing and put it in a waiting room bin. he used his id card to open a door and return back to the unit side. If the department is going to look at wounds and examine patients in the waiting room you need to get gloves, and a sink to wash hands,
at no time was he wearing gloves or washed his hands
the nurse taking my history did not want to listen and wished to go through her tick list, and did not even wish to hear about or enter all the drugs i currently take despite asking me for a list.
Anything else?
waiting for 3 hours at minor injury unit. the triage just consisted of someone coming in to the waiting room and asking if patients were ok. It would have been much better to triage those who needed x ray or dressing first rather than have to wait to see someone to say that you need X-ray then have to go and wait again, then wait again to be seen.
"poor standards of staff hygiene, i would not use..."
