We had our baby at North Middlesex in March 2019 and attended the following classes offered by the maternity department; preparing for labour, preparing for parenthood, breastfeeding and hypnobirthing (additional fee). All courses are taught my midwives, all of whom are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. All classes prepared us for our birth and journey with our newborn. They are also hospital specific do you know exactly where to go, what to do and when. The breastfeeding classes were invaluable in dispelling breastfeeding myths and providing support when needed. All of the midwives made themselves available and contactable should we have any queries. It's also a great opportunity to meet other parents. The only improvement I could suggest is that there could be a postnatal class or course for families to stay in touch and get some more support once the babies have arrived. However, all in all the parental education courses are super useful and provide an insight into how your birth/antenatal journey will go whilst you are at North Middlesex.
