"Smoking at the QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as a friend),

I would just like to echo the other person's experience when attending the QMC of having to walk through numerous smokers outside the main entrance. It is not like this at the City Hospital so why at QMC?

All you ever read is how they are working to introduce innovative measures etc to address this but when? It has been like it for years so where are these measures?

There are cigarette ends everywhere it is a disgrace outside the main entrance, I've even smelt cannabis being smoked!

Thank you for getting in touch with your feedback. I’m sorry that your experience of our hospital was let down by the smoke and cigarette ends at the main entrance which do not create a good first impression. We are mindful that smoking outside of our hospitals is a deteriorating problem and are re-doubling our efforts to tackle this. Our smokefree group meet regularly to discuss potential solutions, with the support of our partners. I have shared your comments with this group, however, if you would like to discuss your concerns further you can contact the Patient Experience Team on 0115 924 9924 x66623 and we can pass on any further feedback.

Kind regards

Anthony Harbottle
