I feel I must complain to this surgery about the lack of care given. Over the last 3 years I have been in more and more pain in the top of my neck and shoulders which has now spread to the lower part of my back. This is the result of a scoliosis operation I had when I was 11. I've visited the surgery on numerous occasions having appointments with a doctor (my Dr never seems to be available) I never seem to get past having an x-ray done. I would really like to see a specialist and have petitioned this only to be told that my Harrington rods are in place so no need to worry. About two years ago I was in so much pain I went private and paid for a scan. This showed I have disc degeneration in my neck. This was never discovered on the NHS. I fear the same thing could now be happening to the lower part part of my back too. Some days I can rerely stay on my feet and the constant pain wakes me up at night.Being an x-Alder Hey patient and now at 37 years old, where can I go from here? I was even informed that there were scoliosis specialists at Oswetry Hospital who work privately but a referral note from your GP is still required. I asked the Dr about this saying a was prepared to pay and was refused a referral note too. I have since written to Oswetry Hospital myself. They have told me my email will be passed to the two scoliosis consultants but it is likely a referral letter will be needed
So where do I go from here? I would have preferred to write a private email to Park Street Surgery however, it seems that they do not have this service available either. Feeling very alone with this problem that doesn't seem to be taken seriously.
