"Care for Autistic children"

About: Sheffield Children's Hospital

Attended A@E with our autistic granddaughter. Explained on arrival that she was autistic. Non verbal and no insight into what’s happening. E You seem to have nothing in place for autistic children and no extra support. She had meltdown in front of nurses station with Doctors and nurses watching. We had to leave without being seen.

I am really sorry that you had this experience with us. We are improving our services and as part of that we have plans to ensure we have facilities and training for staff in order to support all children and young people that use our services

If you would like to be involved in helping us to make sure we "get it right" please contact the PALS office on 0114 2717594
