What I liked
Just wanted to add that although I was treated as an inpatient at the fracture unit and an outpatient thereafter, I have also experience of orthodontics as my son is a patient there and more recently with my daughter who was treated as an emergency with a urinary tract infection. Several years ago my sister was in A & E after a car accident and within the remit of a busy NHS hospital on all occasions the service has been excellent. Compared to some other hospitals I have had to attend (including on one occasion a private one) Kingston Hospital is a beacon, the staff exemplary and I recommend it unreservedly.
What could be improved
I had a multiple fracture of the wrist and had to wait about three hours late at night (from about 10pm) in A & E before I was seen. Being in pain the whole experience was gruelling but I don't know how if could have been handled differently as babies and children kept arriving and I fully understand (particularly as a parent myself) that they had to be seen first. I was eventually given a bed at 4am only to be awoken as is usual hospital practice at 6am. Not a good night!
"All in all - except for the wait in A & E, it was..."
