"My daughter's broken arm."

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Musgrove Park Hospital / Trauma & Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

My 7 year old daughter broke her arm recently and attended MPH ED for treatment.  The staff involved in her care were wonderful. They were all kind and showed caring to us throughout our journey from ED to Oak ward, Orthopaedic theatres and back to Oak. Dr Walburn,  Mr Dunkley and the rest of the theatre team were amazing and looked after our daughter with such care, a traumatic period as parents was made slightly easier knowing that she was in excellent hands.

Oak ward staff, although the majority who looked after our daughter were bank or agency, were also of a high standard. The children's unit was welcoming and provided such good facilities that after discharge our daughter wanted to go back to continue to play in the  play room and have school work to do!
As a healthcare worker, being the other side of the fence was daunting, especially with the most valued of gifts as my daughter.  Our journey was made slightly easier knowing that the team looking after her were so wonderful.  Thank you doesn't seem enough, you are all amazing.

Thank you for your kind feedback, it is very scary when you are on the other side of the fence, I totally agree. I'm glad to hear you were well looked after and hope your daughter is recovering well.

Kind regards

Louise
