"A&E following shoulder dislocation"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Accident and emergency

Recently I attended darenth valley hospital following falling down the stairs and dislocating my shoulder. I was seen very quickly by the triage nurse within 5minutes of arrival. I was then reviewed by a doctor within the next two minutes, provided with strong pain relief and sent for x-ray.

The doctor reviewed the x-ray very quickly and relocated my shoulder with the assistance of some gas&air. I was provided with a sling and re x-rayed before being discharged with a follow up orthopedic appointment in 3 days time.

Overall I was in hospital about 90mins and felt the communication between staff was excellent. Including the receptionist whom was very friendly and calm whilst trying to ask my details when I was in a considerable about of pain. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout my treatment and everything was explained very clearly to me.

It was clear the department was exceptionally busy but I could not fault the staff on their care and on their professionalism.

Thank you all so much.
