About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

What I liked

I had to visit the A&E Department on 19th April 2012 in the late evening because i suspected that I had a heart problem.

After initial assessment, I was admitted onto Ward 14 and then, fortunately discharged during the morning of 18th April.

Therefore, because of my relatively short stay, this is a "snap-shot" opinion.

Over the last 10 years, I was admitted to your hospital on 4 previous occasions and I was very disappointed with most of the important elements of care i.e. organisation, cleanliness, hygiene and staff attitude to patients.

I am delighted to report that on this occasion, my experience was the exact opposite. What a turnaround!

Organisation, cleanliness, hygiene and staff attitude to patients has improved enormously.

I would be very grateful if you would pass on my comments to the relevant staff in A&E and Ward 14.
