My mother was admitted today for an umbilical hernia operation. She is nearly 88 years old and we were worried how she would react to the anaesthetic and the general trauma of the operation. All I can say is that the care and respect she received from both the surgeon and the nursing and administration staff, could not have been bettered. Mum is a tough lady and rarely complains about anything, but she was very worried because in the weeks prior to her operation she had been plagued with urine and chest infections.
The surgeon and staff put her at ease, talked to her, say with her, explained everything to her and made the appreciative a lot less frightening.
I'd like to say a big thank you on behalf of my mum and the rest of the family for doing such a great job. It is very much appreciated.
