"Emergency Call Out to my husband "

About: NHS Lothian Scottish Ambulance Service

(as a relative),

Last week I had to call the ambulance service for my husband, who had never had a days illness in his life, who had what I now know was a Myocardial Infarction,

The team who attended were so efficient and caring for him and also to me. I have to commend them highly, They worked hard on my husband for what seemed a long time and worked so well as a team. Unfortunately after taking my husband to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary he didn't survive but on returning home two of the team were waiting outside the house as one of them had to return for his motorcycle. They came in and explained what had happenned and just showed such care for us. Thank you to this team.

This is not the first time I have had to use this service. My brother who lived with us had learning difficulties and after treatment for Oesophageal carcinoma developed brain metasteses and had quite a few seizures. Each time the Paramedics came out they were again so efficient and really caring for towards my brother. My brother died in 2010.

Thank you for sharing your recent and past experiences of the Scottish Ambulance Service, particularly in what must be a difficult time for you. I'm very sorry for the loss of your husband.

I will pass your feedback on to the Area Service Manager, who will let the staff members involved know that you have posted your note of appreciation on the Patient Opinion website.
