A high staff to patient ratio with a very caring attitude from virtually all staff. This is exemplified by the fact that the specialist nurse from the admission area bothered to visit me on the ward to see how I was progressing. Physiotherapy staff put me through my paces and made arrangements for a follow up in my local area. Food was much better than at other hospitals I have experienced. Sleeping was quite difficult as is general in hospitals because of noise from monitoring equipment and other patients – that seems to be the nature of the beast. I see that the Lister Stoke Unit has received accolades in the past and am pleased to say that the standards have been maintained. My thanks to all on Pirton Ward..
