"Walk in centre?"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Last time I attended battle hill walk in centre it had signs up stating the walk in centre was moving to rake lane hospital. So when I've experienced extremely bad throat pain for two weeks which is now interrupting sleep and presumed I had an infection this is where I went. I got a bad reception from staff who acted as if I shouldn't have been there I felt as though I'd gone to an emergency department. I think they need to make their mind up whether they're a walk in centre or an A&E department because at the minute the lines are blurred and don't get as friendly reception as at battle hill for illness such as these.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Firstly I would like to apologise and secondly thank you for sharing your experience and views with us. I would like to look further into the care you describe so we can continue to learn how we can improve our walk-in service.

Please could you email us at patient.experience@nhct.nhs.uk with your name, date of birth and home address. With your details we will be able to see the date and time of your arrival with us. In the meantime I will share your review with our clinical teams.

To give you some extra reassurance on where best to go for care we would always recommend contact NHS 111 who are best placed to advice you 24/7.

I hope this helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jan
