"With a huge degree of compassion, thought and care"

About: Holme Valley Memorial Hospital / Day surgery

(as a service user),

I had surgery to my bunion 2 weeks ago. This was a day procedure under local anaesthetic after a couple of previous clinic appointments. I have attended again today for the second check after surgery. The complete process has been clear and efficient but with a huge degree of compassion, thought and care.

Having never had surgery before, I had all the usual anxieties, but the whole team from the reception staff to the clinic staff and surgeons we're so reassuring, friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure that I understood everything, and was fully included in discussing my condition and the treatment. Even the operation was almost enjoyable and I was made to feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout. I am delighted with the outcome and have no hesitation in planning for the other foot to be treated. A huge "thank you" to the team who are all healthcare superstars!!
