"Appointment system"

About: Elizabeth Court Surgery

Trying to get an appointment isn’t good. I’m a chronically ill patient who can only get to speak to a GP on the phone. The receptionists decide whether you can have an appointment urgently or a telephone call in a few weeks. This system may work for people who are not chronically ill. You can see a GP that day if it’s an emergency, or wait 3 weeks to get an appointment if it’s not an emergency. Neither of those are helpful for sick people who need to see a DR quickly but is not a medical emergency but still urgent.

I am not happy with discussing my medical problems with a receptionist for them to decide if and when I see a GP.

What happened to patient confidentiality.
