"Amazing EPAU staff and care"

About: Fairfield General Hospital

What I liked

Over a number of visits over a 5 week period due to a complicated miscarriage the staff in EPAU at Fairfield dealt with my husband and I with incredible patience. respect and care at a very difficult time. The nurses in EPAU never rushed us and kept us informed at all times, coming back to us when they said they would, providing information whenever requested, respecting our wishes thus trying to make a very upsetting situation as easy as possible. Their tact and understanding was greatly appreciated.

The sonographers were also great they delivered very difficult news with great tact and allowed us space to process information and didn't rush us out in to the waiting room ,a small things which made a big difference to us.

What could be improved

After care, once I'd had my op I felt rushed out of hospital almost dismissed which was a shock after such great care by the EPAU and the sonographers, very vague guidance provided and a very robotic approach to what maybe a quite common medical occurrence but as an individual is very upsetting
