(as a relative),

My Dad committed suicide due to feeling helpless. If there had been better communication between hospital staff, GPs and mental health professionals I feel this may have been preventable. I am not writing this to blame others but to help improve communication and creative thinking as my dad had crohn's disease as well as serious mental health. His body could not tolerate the medication but other alternatives e. g. injections, CBT or other ways to help reduce cortisol and help increase serotonin was not even looked at, discussed or considered. I'm sharing this story as I do not want others to suffer from a lack of professional communication. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my feedback

I am so sorry to read your posting and wish to extend my condolences to you and your family.

Thank you for your feedback of which I will explore further with the clinical team, I'm unsure of your Dad so I will speak with the wards at Millbrook unit to gain understanding of your Dad's treatment plan and look at the issues you have raised about communication between differing teams in mental health and physical healthcare areas.
