"My mum who has Ms and is admitted to ward 64"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Surgery (wards 64, 65, 66,& 67)

(as a relative),

My mum got admitted to hospital on Friday on where she was took to ward 64 due to her Ms and how much pain she was in and was unable to mobilise along with other things.

The staff here are incredible from the auxiliary staff, nurses, domestics etc all of them have been amazing and the ward is honestly the best ward and best staff I have seen in a hospital and I have been in loads from Glasgow Edinburgh Belfast England etc and I have never seen staff work so well as a team and treat each patient with the utmost respect, dignity and deliver fantastic care. My mum usually has anxiety and gets   very upset during her stays in hospitals   yet this time she is generally at ease and praises the staff especially John and Jackie who have been the   ones looking after my mum mostly the last 2 days, that said all the other nurses, assistants etc are just equally as fantastic. I feel all the staff in this ward should be recognised for all their hard work and for helping patients and their family’s feel at ease, nothings ever to much for them to do and they have made my mum and her family and friends feel very welcome in the ward and I would like to say a big thank you to each one of them.

Dear Ashleyx

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your Mum’s experience in Ward 64.

It is lovely to hear about the care your Mum has received from all the staff (especially John and Jackie). Being in hospital can be a very anxious and distressing time and I am glad that the staff were able to reassure your Mum and put her at ease.

I look forward to passing on your comments to the team – I am sure they will appreciate your kind words and thanks.

Please pass on my best wishes to your Mum.

Kind Regards

Nicole

Dear Ashleyx

Thank you so much for your post on Care Opinion.

We have shared your post with the staff in Ward 64 who were delighted with your feedback. Our staff work hard to provide a high standard of care to our patients and it’s always rewarding to receive such positive feedback from patients and their families.

Just to let you know that NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has annual Chairman’s Awards which are an opportunity to celebrate members of staff/teams who have provided exceptional care and support. You can find more information here: https://www.nhsggc.org.uk/our-performance/chairmans-awards/
